TIGER HISTORY

Prior to the inaugural Varsity Baseball season in 2005, Lake Center Christian didn't even have a baseball field to play on. In fact, all that was on campus were two slow-pitch softball fields that had nothing but dirt and bases.

Baseball became more than a thought when key supporters banded together to make Varsity Baseball a reality at LCCS. Dimensions were made, sod was laid, a temporary fence was installed, and everything was in place for the Spring of '05. Coach Brandon Wells was named as the Head Coach in that inaugural season. While the first club dealt with the growing-pains that every young Program faces in 2005, their perseverance proved to be pivotal in laying a foundation for the future success of the Lake Center Christian Baseball Program.

The Baseball Program took remarkable steps forward each season from 2006 to 2009. Nothing illustrates their improvements more than their postseason success. The spring of '09 stands as one of the most successful seasons in LCCS Baseball History as the Club finished 24-6, 2nd in the Final State Polls, and earned a Regional Final (Elite-8) appearance under Head Coach, Mark Kremer.

Head Coach, Tim Hefty, took over the helm in 2011, and worked hard to continue to build the Tigers' Program. Due to the diligence of Coach Hefty and the young Tigers, they were able to reestablish a solid foundation and prepare the Club for the years ahead of them. Time would eventually prove that these years were vital for the club's future success.

Beginning in the 2013 season, the Tigers have put together a combined 102-81 record against some of the area's finest competition. In what has been coined the "Tiger-Ball Era", the Club has worked incredibly hard, which has produced many fruits. Fruits such as improved facilities, Spring Trips, an improved schedule, Portage Trail Conference affiliation, and notoriety around the area. Due to the Club's history of hard work and dedication, a strong pitching staff, steady defense, timely hitting, and aggressive mindsets, the Tigers have developed a strong belief in who they've become, coupled with an unrelenting desire to accomplish more...
